About me

About me

UKCP BACP (Accred), TSTA (P) — Teaching & Supervising Transactional Analyst (Psychotherapist), CTA (P), MA. Tutor at Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute, Castle Quay, Nottingham.

I have over 30 years’ personal development experience working with a variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds, seeking help for a wide range of issues and problems.

Initially qualified in the field of Human Resources Management in 1991, my professional contact with people was largely formal, and I wanted to engage with people at a less formal and more supportive level. I qualified as a counsellor in 1994 and as an internal coach in 1999. I am based in the West Midlands.

Wanting to move further into the field of psychotherapy, I started on a journey of discovery into Transactional Analysis. I began my training and my practice in 1996, becoming a member of BACP and then accredited in 2006.

I qualified as a psychotherapist in 2007 after 11 years of investment for myself and my clients, gaining UKCP accreditation as a result. I completed my TEW in 2013 to become a PTSTA (P), and completed my TSTA (P) in Liverpool in 2018.

To be a psychotherapist you have to be in long-term therapy, and my own personal experience of this is one of healing, growth and freedom to be myself.

I continued with a supervision qualification in 2007 and regularly take opportunities for continuous professional development, including recently completing an MA in Integrative Counselling at Leeds Beckett University. On a regular basis I attend conferences, workshops and other learning environments.

I now provide services encompassing West Midlands counselling, coaching, psychotherapy, supervision and training.
